Indeed review

Verdict. Indeed is still the largest source of applicants for hourly, operational and local roles, and its free posting plus pay-per-application model makes it the first job board most employers should use.

Best for: high-volume and hourly hiring.

Indeed aggregates and hosts more job listings than any other site and remains the top source of hires for most hourly and operational roles. Employers can post for free, sponsor with pay-per-click or pay-per-application budgets, and use Indeed's screener questions and assessments to filter applicants.

The weakness is quality: volume brings noise, and knowledge-worker roles often do better on LinkedIn or niche boards. Indeed's own hiring platform is adequate for small firms, but most companies route applications into an ATS.

Pros and cons

Largest applicant volume in the US
Free postings and flexible sponsored budgets
Screener questions and assessments built in
Mixed applicant quality
Less effective for senior and technical roles
